The youth group from Shkodra, part of the POWER4AY project, brought enthusiasm and creativity to the National Conference “Born in the Climate Crisis”, showcasing their concrete actions for protecting the environment and tackling climate change.
At this important event, where children and youth from Burrel, Shkodra, Dibra, Elbasan, and Roskovec became the voice of change, the Shkodra group presented their innovative initiative for recycling and sustainable consumption. With great creativity, they painted reusable tote bags with strong environmental messages, which were then distributed for free to the local community.
“Each tote bag is an invitation to reflect and to act – because change begins with our small, everyday choices,” was the message they shared with participants.
Through this symbolic activity, the group demonstrated that even small steps can have a big impact, and that the leaders of tomorrow are ready to take responsibility today. Their initiative was warmly welcomed by representatives from the Ministry of Tourism and Environment, the Ombudsperson, UNICEF, civil society organizations, and local coordinators who attended the conference.
The commitment of the Shkodra youth group is a powerful reminder that with passion and creativity, young people can lead the way in building a greener, more sustainable future for all.
Their message was loud and clear: Let’s act now for a greener future!
